If this is correct, the release date is on 26/04/2010. I hope that these are not the only tracks included!!!

I believe that is the set they played at the Sweden Rock Festival, which is the main concert of the DVD as i've understood it? And if I remember correctly the DVD will also include a gig from Greece or smth. I'm sure it will have other bonus stuff on it too, so I don't think that's the only tracks..

That's the set they played at Sweden Rock Festival, minus "Mirror Mirror" which was the first song.
From what I understand it's supposed to be a double dvd also with the gig from Athens this autumn and that gig was longer than Sweden Rock I think.

I'm almost certain it's two shows on the dvd and there are some bonus stuff.

If you look on Nuclearblast homepage you can see the actual songs...!

OK. That track list is the tracklist of the cd with the sweden rock show. So it is 2 shows on dvd + the one on the cd cooool!!!!! ![]()

This will be awesome. Will buy both the DVD and CD, for sure!

The cd won't be released separately if I'm not mistaken, it's only included together with the dvd. However... it looks like the audio will be released separately on glorious VINYL! ![]()

I am happy that they release the audio from Sweden Rock with the DVD, but a bit disappointed that the audio from Athens will only be available on vinyl... The setlist is a bit different, with some really great songs, which I would love to hear with Robert.
What could be the reason for this? The quality of the audio? But why then release it as vinyl?? Nuclear Blast should at least give us some possibility to get the Athens-audio, download or whatever.
Or else, someone here with a really good setup and knowledge should rip the audio from the vinyl, with approval from the band, of course.

The Athens show means 2 extra cd's in the package and possible increase in cost of the whole package that Nuclear Blast didn't want. Now I think at least it should be out as a standalone live cd but then i think the limited LP's is a great opportunity for the company to partially satisfy the unlimited lust for money. - Check how many formats do in each release (digipack, LP, Limited package and others). Then, will probably put it out as downloadable content for extra cash.

I received my copy yesterday... so far I didn't have time to watch everything toroughly, but from what I watched so far, I would say that this is a solid release. The band seems to be in great shape at both gigs (though Rob occasionally fucks up the lyrics at the athens gig...). The sound quality is very high for both gigs, although I don't like the 5.1 mix, but this might be my personal preference, I just prefer listen to concert recordings in stereo. The picture quality for the sweden rock gig is very good, the athens gig looks odd though... like it was filmed in the 70s. I guess this was a deliberate decision to make it look more "underground" or "vintage" or whatever... I would have preferred a clearer picture nevertheless.
Overall I like it a lot, especially since we get to hear some songs we didn't hear previously with Rob on vocals (my favourite being a sorcerer's pledge... he just sounds so fucking pissed when he does the "the day when the sorcerer will rise.... RISE!!!" bit
)
Anyone else has seen it yet? What are your thoughts on the DVD?

Oh, one more thing... there seems to be a bug in the chapter markers for the sweden rock-gig... when I try to access "kill the king" directly via the menu, it brings me to the beginning of "solitude", the menu-entry for "solitude" brings me to the middle of "a sorcerer's pledge". Can someone confirm this, or is it just my DVD (unlikely)?

Well, i've pre-ordered my copy. If everything goes as planned I'll have it on wednesday. Looking forward to this one!
Have you played the CD, The_Don? If so, how's the sound?
Offline
Markus: I'm playing the CD right now, the mix is I think the same as the stereo mix on the DVD. It's very clear and well balanced; if you wouldn't hear the audience occasionally, you could almost think it's a live-in-the-studio recording!

I received my order today. dvd/cd and Live In Athens vinyl record.
I had just seen the dvd (live Athens gig) and i think it's great. Great performance, excellent stereo sound.
I do think the grainy (grindhouse feel) image is a bit too much. I do like it, but a little less i would have prefered.
It's hard too see facial expressions, something i would like too see when a band is playing live when i watch a live dvd.
I just seen a little bit from Sweden live bit. Looks good. Can't really say too much since i haven't seen the full gig.
I did check the 5.1 sound and compared it to the 2.0 sound...and i prefer the 2.0. Much more guitar and an overal natural feel.
@magic_child
The audio from Athens is ofcourse on the dvd, since that full show is also on the dvd with the Sweden gig. No need for a record player or this record if you want to hear this great performance.
